EREA is committed to creating an environment in which the Safety wellbeing and participation of all children and young people are paramount.
The Edmund Rice Education Australia Townsville Flexible Learning Centre was established in 2006 to provide appropriate responses to the complex needs of young people in the Townsville region who have found themselves outside the mainstream educational system. The Centre operates through a common ground framework based on the four principles of respect, honesty, participation and safe and legal. The staff of the Centre build honest and authentic relationships with young people and their families or carers, supporting and celebrating the uniqueness and dignity of each individual. Townsville Flexible Learning Centre underwent a new build in 2023 and was officially opened on 22nd March 2023 and blessed by Bishop Tim Harris. We are grateful to the Federal Government for the generous funding received to complete this project.
The Burdekin Flexible Learning Centre was officially opened on Tuesday 19th July 2022 and blessed by Bishop Tim Harris.
The Centre provides transport and meal services to support young people to attend.
